Payback

Kara had a good idea on bedtime singing: They should start singing to me! Last night as I was putting Nat to bed I asked her how many nights I sang to her. She guessed 300. Try 3,000 sister. At least! I told her that it was time for a little payback. She liked the idea, and sang “You are my Sunshine.” It was so sweet and I am sure it was better than I ever did. Tonight I am going to request Edelweiss.

This brings back some great memories, singing in our lowly apartment, entertaining the girls that came by, and sharing a talent that I could have never found without your help.

Remember me trying to find the notes while you banged on the piano key in your garage (I think). I don't know if you knew this or not, but Dean Thompson (that really big dude in one of the Santa Susana wards that I took voice lessons from) told my mom that "he normally would not take a student that sings as poorly as Scott does, but he seems so determined, that I will go ahead and do it...."

Now, I have sung solo's in Sacrament meeting and I love to sing in our ward choir. I am going to put a CD together for my Mom and Dad this year.

"I would be my brother's keeper..." is one of my favorites--I wish I could be closer to one of my favorite "brothers" to be one of his "keepers."

Love you man.
